Spectacular California Pinot Noirs!
Belle Glos showcases, under one label, distinctive single-vineyard Pinot Noirs produced from three top growing areas in California:
Las Alturas Vineyard, in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County
Taylor Lane Vineyard, from the Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County
Clark & Telephone Vineyard, in the Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County
Each bottle is hand-dipped in wax; an elegant presentation that also represents the amount of handcrafting that goes into the wines from vineyard to cellar. To open bottle simply pull the tab to strip off the wax top; remove cork with a corkscrew. The bottle can also be opened by piercing the wax top with a corkscrew. The wax will break as the cork comes out of the bottle.
About the Vineyards
The first vintage of Belle Glos vineyard-designated wines, from Taylor Lane Vineyard and Clark & Telephone Vineyard, debuted in 2002. The third single-vineyard wine, from Las Alturas Vineyard, was added in 2004. The three vineyard locations can all be described as coastal, but the climate differences are significant, depending on the amount of fog, wind, sunlight and soil type at each site.
The name Belle Glos (pronounced BELL GLOSS), honors Joseph’s grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards.
About the Winemaker
Joseph J. Wagner is a fourth-generation winemaker from a family with farming and winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Joseph Wagner became involved in vineyard development and learning about the craft and business of winemaking while still in high school. He has been vineyardist and winemaker for all Belle Glos wines since 2002.
