Gei Berra Single Vineyard 2004
Bodegas Trapiche, Argentina
Lunlunta, Mendoza
100% Malbec
The single vineyards project was designed as a tribute to their independent grape growers and an exhibition of how the character of the Malbec grape can vary at different altitudes and terroirs within Mendoza. Each year, the Trapiche team chooses the best three Malbec lots of the harvest and honors them with their own single-vineyard bottlings. The result is three of the finest 100% Malbecs available today.
A full-bodied, juicy, and elegantly perfumed Malbec from Lunlunta, Robert Parker recently spoke of Sr. Carlos Gei Berra’s wine as having “a superb perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black cherry and blackberry liqueur...supple texture, serious depth, and a long finish.” He finished by saying, “If I were a young collector, I’d be stashing these away in my cellar.”

“The 2004 Malbec Vina Carlos Gei Berra is purple/black in color with a superb perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, mineral, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with a supple texture, layers of fruit, spicy black fruit flavors, serious depth, and a long, slightly tannic finish. Give it 5-7 years in the cellar and drink it through 2030.”
