Shiraz 2004
Elderton Wines
Barossa, South Australia
100% Shiraz
The fruit for Elderton Shiraz is grown exclusively on the Elderton Vineyard situated on the banks of the North Para River, Nuriootpa, Barossa Valley, South Australia. Elderton was transformed from a vineyard supplying quality fruit to other wineries to a winery in its own right in 1982, and have since won much recognition for all of the wines, especially the Shiraz.
Barossa Shiraz is now highly collectable worldwide, and the Elderton is always a benchmark for the region. The 2004 vintage has also been selected for business class service on Singapore airlines.

Complex, with structure, grip, wood, and power, the deep, chewy, peppery 2004 Shiraz reveals blackberry and black cherry fruit with dusty, loamy soil notes in the background. Drink it over the next decade.

Deep ruby. Wild, expansive bouquet of red and dark berries, olive and candied licorice. Energetic and bright, with a taut, wound-up character and slowly unfolding raspberry and blackberry flavors accented by licorice and cracked pepper. There’s very good depth of flavor here but this very young wine still needs at least a few years of patience. Finishes with sweet berry flavors and youthful tannins.
