Not to be confused with Beaujolais Nouveau! While most people know about Beaujolais Nouveau - the young wine that is released on the third Thursday of November - many people don’t realize that there is much more to the Beaujolais region than just the Nouveau wines. There are many vineyards in the region that are known for producing affordable red wines of excellent quality. You’ll find wines, such as this one, which have been made from some of these better sites throughout the region, labeled as Beaujolais-Villages.

The Gamay grape can produce some very drinkable and enjoyable red wines that are perfect for summertime foods. With more moderate tannins than many other red wines, Beaujolais-Villages wines are a great compromise if you are trying to serve one wine that might appeal to both red and white wine drinkers.

This is an easy-to-drink and ready-to-drink wine. With its soft and approachable tannins, it is a versatile and friendly red.  Medium intense cherry red with a youthful ruby tint to rim. Medium intense cherry red with a youthful ruby tint to rim. Dry, with fairly light body, balanced acidity with moderate alcohol, very soft and approachable tannins. Make sure you chill this wine slightly before drinking. When the bottle feels very cool to the touch, it is ready to open!
